VI. License Discipline and Public Records

The DRE offers its website as a resource where members of the public can check on a licensee's good standing and record of discipline. It is lawful for the DRE to make this information, even information about a pending case, available to the public. Usually an initial inquiry at the DRE website will reveal the existence of a pending or decided discipline case. The person inquiring can then make further inquiries or even order copies of the Accusation/Statement of Issues and other public documents relating to the disciplinary action.

If you have a pending license discipline case for an existing license, please be aware that clients, associates and investors, among others, may learn of your pending license discipline case. Dissemination of this information may have a severe impact on some businesses. Additionally, disciplinary case results are typically published in the DRE's Real Estate Bulletin, which is sent to those who request it via email.
